ROKITANSKY

The Rokitansky Small Biopsy Grossing System — automated, from the point of care forward.

How it works

One workflow. Four steps. Zero manual transfer.

Every specimen follows the same verified sequence, start to finish — the same sequence you'll see live on the Rokitansky's own operator console.

01 — SCAN

Scan

The patient label and lab accession label are both scanned before anything opens — catching mismatches before they become errors.

02 — VERIFY

Verify

A machine vision camera photographs the cassette and its contents, cross-checking against the scanned barcode to confirm nothing was missed.

03 — ETCH

Etch

A UV laser permanently marks patient information directly onto the cassette — no handwriting, no smudged labels, no ambiguity.

04 — GROSS

Gross

An AI-assisted gross description is generated from the specimen image and queued for review — every description requires pathologist sign-off.

Ranvier Collection Device

The transfer step, eliminated.

The RCD is a container and cassette in one — the specimen goes straight in at the point of care, no transfer required. Close the lid, and the cassette submerges into a formalin reservoir that mimics processor conditions for improved fixation.

  • No lost tissue during specimen transfer
  • No mutilation or fragmentation in transit
  • No tissue ending up in the wrong cassette
  • No fatty tissue floating and fixing poorly
